THEtechnique
Draping is a nineteenth-century clinical convention, not a feature of massage itself. The bathing and oiling traditions it descends from — Roman, Ottoman, Japanese — used no sheets at all. Naked massage declines the convention and keeps the bodywork.
The measure of this format is that nothing interrupts it. No sheet is lifted or replaced, so the hands never leave the skin and the body never resets between movements. The route is ordinary: legs, back, shoulders, then over. The hour is unusual only in being unbroken.
On the night
Oil, warmth, and a room with the light down. The work runs the conventional route, back and legs and shoulders, but nothing interrupts it: no towel moved, no pause to rearrange. Skin against skin at the points where the therapist steadies herself. The whole hour is continuous.
Who takes it
People who have noticed that the towel ritual asks more attention than it saves in modesty, and who would rather the format said what it is.
